What is Overlord about?
The hit anime show is based off a light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and has grown to be one of the most successful anime series of all time. The show has got a 7.8 star rating on IMDB with more than 5000 reviews.
The show revolves around the life of Momonga, he lives in a futuristic society where an enormous Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (DMMORPG) called YGGDRASIL has taken the world by storm. The game is set to be shut down but as the day arrives Momonga wakes up and realises that not only has the game not been shut down but he is now trapped inside the game as his avatar.
He takes on the name of Ainz and the series follows his adventures through the universe as he works to try and understand what has happened. It is the story of a person with ethical concerns and near limitless power adventuring through a new world.

Overlord Season 4: Release Date
The show debuted in 2016 and has since grown from having a cult following into a mainstream anime show with a global audience. The third season of Overlord was released in October 2018 and ran for 13 episodes like the other seasons before it. There are currently 14 volumes of the books with a total of 17 planned, so there is more than enough source material for the show’s producers to work off.
Currently there is a confirmed release date for Overlord Season 4. However, while at a German anime event, the scriptwriter for the show said he is exceptionally keen for a fourth season of the show and a fourth season is very likely.
With COVID-19 hitting this year it seems almost impossible that the show will see a release in 2020. Production all over the world has ground to a halt and getting that machine moving again will take some time. We are hoping to see the final season of Overlord released early in 2021. We’ll keep you updated with the latest news once we uncover it. Stay in touch for more updates.

Overlord Season 4: Plot
Like the seasons that preceded it, Overlord Season 3 followed two main storylines. The first followed Entri and Npheria in Carne Village, showing how they were progressing along with other actions around the Empire. It also follows Ainz’s plans to rule the world and how the other characters tie in with his master plans.
What has made Overlord so popular is the fantastic world-building, great humour and dialogue, and its ability to make you root for the bad guy.
Fan’s are fairly sure it’s going to continue following Ainz’s rise to the top and how he will become the master of his new universe. He is exceptionally powerful but there are people who want to see him fail. To rule the world, he is going to have to prove himself worthy of the role.
